Additional Information:
Why should you choose vegetable dyed leather over chrome leather? This centuries old tanning practice results in leather that looks and smells more natural, ages with a beautiful patina and is stronger in the long run. Plus it is more sustainable as it is made with naturally derived tannins from tree bark rather than harsh chemicals.
Like an investment piece a vegetable dyed leather should be treated with care. This leather is famous for being extra durable and ageing like a fine wine it will benefit and last longer with some TLC.
- Keep away from artificial heat to avoid drying out the leather
- Avoid fully immersing in water for the first month of ownership as vegetable dyed leather is prone to water retention until seasoned. Getting caught in a small amount of water wont harm the leather but avoidance for the first month is recommended.
- Invest in a leather conditioner or balm to preserve the quality of the collar/lead
We do not recommend exposure to salty water as the salt will cause the leather to dry out. If this does happen we recommend running under clean water, drying with a soft cloth and laying flat to dry. Once dry treat with a leather conditioner or balm.
Due to the tanning process, some colours may vary slightly.
